Where
Host nations
CONMEBOL has not named a host. The United States, host in 2016 and 2024, is reported to be the favourite: The Athletic first reported talks in December 2025, and The Times reported in October 2026 that CONMEBOL prefers a US edition, possibly with 20 teams instead of 16. Ecuador, which last hosted in 1993, proposed eight cities in 2024, and Argentina also showed interest; The Times reports both were passed over. None of this is official.

If the United States is confirmed, the 2024 edition is the best guide: 14 stadiums from coast to coast, with most travelling fans following their team by plane.
Watch out
The Los Angeles Olympics open on 14 July 2028, with football in several US cities. A US Copa América would have to fit around them, so expect busy hotels and domestic flights.
